Eye Media pioneered Australia's first 'Distributed Authoring' system in 1997, incorporated into a website for then Victorian Premier Jeff Kennett. As the forerunner to today’s Web Content Management Systems, our Distributed Authoring system combined sophisticated approval workflow, dynamic creation of navigation menus, accessibility features for users with special needs, streaming video capability and robust content management usable by a team of both technical and non-technical staff.
Eye Media embraced what is now called Social Networking or “Web 2.0” years before these became household terms – forging online communities, user generated content, individual personalisation of websites and online collaboration systems.
Commencing as specialist in Lotus Notes Domino, Eye Media led the trend to be ‘platform agnostic’ – building, hosting and supporting multi-platform applications using the best combination of technologies for each client and project.
